Squib

A Squib is a small two-person keelboat. It is the closest you can get to experiencing the thrills and spills of dinghy sailing without the fear of capsizing.  Currently there is a fleet of 12 Squibs in HYC with the Club owning one boat that is available to members.

The Squibs race every Tuesday evening and on Saturday afternoons and have a respectable turnout averaging 8 boats. The fleet is always welcoming and will support newcomers, whatever their experience and ability. Whether you’re starting off and looking to crew or you’d like to buy your own Squib to race, there will be someone in the fleet to give you a hand and some advice.
