Class 2
Class 2 contains a vibrant and committed group of yachts, who compete throughout the season on Wednesday nights. A typical Wednesday consists of leaving the marina at approx. 18.20, sailing out beyond Irelands Eye and racing for approximately an hour. We are back in the club at 21.00 where there is a fantastic social scene with food and drink at the bar!
Yachts range in size from 28ft to approx. 35ft and offer a range of sailing challenges to all commers. Whether you want the excitement of screaming along downwind in a J80 or enjoying an X-yacht with a larger crew, there is something for everyone!
We have seven X-yachts, a Corby 25, two half tonners and several J80’s. it has always been a competitive class with active participants every year in Howth’s Autumn League, ICRA National Championships, Wave Regatta, Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta, and Sovereigns Week Kinsale to name but a few. There is plenty of scope to join a boat and experience a racing regatta with all the fun and craic accompanying it. The Class looks forward to welcoming all new sailors and extends an invitation to join us on the water!!
