Burgees - Bar Display

Howth Yacht Club is always delighted to welcome visitors from fellow yacht and sailing clubs, as well as guests of our members. Part of that welcome is a long-standing maritime tradition —the exchange of club burgees. Originating in the early days of international yachting, burgee swaps became a simple but meaningful gesture of goodwill, recognising shared values and fostering friendships between clubs across the world.

Over time, these exchanges have created a lasting record of connection and travel. The burgees displayed in our clubhouse are more than decorative; each one represents a visit, an encounter, and a moment of camaraderie between sailors. Together, they form a vibrant visual map of the global sailing community to which Howth Yacht Club proudly belongs.
