Howth Yacht Club is proud to be accredited by Ireland's national autism charity, AsIAm and Howth Sutton Autism Friendly Community as an Autism Champion.
Our staff have been trained on how to best cater to customers with autism or other neurodivergence, and we offer sensory kits including earplugs, sunglasses and fidget toys in our bar/restaurant and in the training school, along with visual guides to different activities and events that take place at the club. When you book a sailing course with us, you will receive a visual guide.
At weekends the bar and restaurant can be quite busy and may not be the best environment for those with autism or other neurodivergence. However, if you are feeling overwhelmed, there is a sensory space available. Please ask a member of staff for access to it.
