Big breeze for the end of Brass Monkeys Spring Series
Despite forecasts for winds in excess of force 7, the final race of the Brass Monkeys Spring Series was completed on Saturday morning and competitors enjoyed their final race in mild but gusty conditions. The top prize (the Peter Huntley Millennium Trophy) was awarded to Class 3 'Cheyenne' from Malahide Yacht Club following their 4 point margin of victory over 'Invader' in the Class 3 division.
The event was jointly sponsored by CES (Centre of English Studies) and the Brass Monkey restaurant and event chairman Pat Connolly thanked them for their generous contribution which helped to run a successful series and provided an array of prizes for the competitors in the 3 cruiser classes.
Following his mention of the Brass Monkey's importance in the extraordinary annual open events schedule - totalling 47 weekends in the club this year, the prizes were awarded by Commodore Brian Turvey.
