Grey skies return as winds forecasted to test competitors for Autumn League final day
The final day of the MSL Park Motors Mercedes-Benz sponsored Autumn League is forecasted to be a windy one, with conditions set to return to 'seasonal normality' for the 100 racing keelboats and their crews.
Wind conditions are expected to be southerly force 4-5, gusting 6-7 on Saturday and will certainly blow any remaining sleepiness from competitors as they set out to start lines for the final day 'early start' on Saturday morning. The first warning signal for both inshore (one designs) and offshore (cruiser classes) fleets will be at 11:00 and it is expected that races will last more than 2 hours.
The schedule of the day will be as follows:
09:00 Coffees and breakfast rolls for competitors
11:00 First warning signal for racing
14:00 BBQs, bar, catering and entertainment
14:30 (est) Protest meetings in Boyd & Centenary Rooms (see notice board for detail)
17:30 Daily prize-giving in the club lounge
18:00 Main prize-giving hosted by Commodore with MSL Park Motors Mercedes-Benz in the club lounge
19:00-21:30 'Viking Banquet' with live entertainment to include presentation by MSL Park Motors Mercedes-Benz to RNLI and Hamper Draw
22:00 - late Live music entertainment from 'Tropical Storm'
