RIP Bernard Barker
The Commodore and Flag Officers regret to advise the members of Howth Yacht Club of the passing of Bernard Barker
The deepest sympathies of the General Committee, staff, and members of HYC go out to the family and friends of Bernard in their time of grief.

Barker (John) Bernard (Thormanby Road, Howth, Co. Dublin and formerly of Marino, Dublin) 31st January 2026, passed away peacefully at home after a short illness, surrounded by his devoted wife Christine and his beloved daughters Tina, Niamh, Aoife and Ciara and his adoring brother and best friend Kieran. Predeceased by his beautiful sister Pauline and his parents. Bernard will be deeply missed by his wife, daughters, brother, cherished grandchildren Nicole, Rebecca, Cillian, Ruby, Rose, Fiadh and Rían, sons-in-law Rob, Warren and Eoin, extended family and many close friends both near and far. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to St Francis Hospice.

Bernard will be reposing at his family home on Wednesday (4th February) from 5pm - 7pm. Removal on Thursday morning to the Church of the Assumption, Howth Village arriving for 10am funeral mass, followed by a cremation service at 12pm in Glasnevin Crematorium.
