Cruising Group pick the best day for a trip to Skerries

Nine yachts from the HYC Cruising Group skedaddled to Skerries on Wednesday 18th September for the last Armada of the 2019 Season. The sun blossomed all day along the east coast as we rode the rising tide on route. The Guillemots and Ganets were feeding and sunbathing on the placid sea. The Oystercatchers stood at the ebb tide scanning the shallows on route for food. Unperturbed they gazed at our fleet passing by. We were met with a pod of feeding Porpoises at the Island entrance to Skerries Harbour.

A hearthy welcome awaited us from the Commodore of the Skerries Sailing Club and the ex Harbourmaster Neal Roche. They settled us in reserved wall locations. The Stoop of the Head Restaurant provided arranged tables of Prawn and Crab for our sunwashed crews. 45 crew in total were present and we celebrated our wonderous "Cote de la Skerries day".
