18 crews attend Puppeteer annual prizegiving dinner
The Puppeteer class gathered in Howth Yacht Club for their annual prize giving dinner on Friday 26th January. The Class Captain, Michael McKeon, made a brief speech, thanking everyone for attending and congratulated all Puppeteers on their participation in the extensive yearly sailing and winning prises. With the recent passing of Puppeteer sailor Peter Byrne, Neil Murphy pay tribute to Peter who sailed in the Puppeteer fleet, was a wholehearted member of Howth Yacht Club and will be missed by all.
Commodore Joe McPeake congratulated and presented the prizes to 18 individual Puppeteer boats. Joe also highlighted the Wave Regatta as a significant showcase event both for Howth YC and the village of Howth itself, with the goal to provide Puppeteer sailors and visitors with a unique experience making the Wave Regatta a memorable highlight of the 2018 season. Everyone enjoyed a fabulous meal prepared by Jason and were well looked after by the ever capable Laura in the dining room, whilst Frank ensured that nobody's glass went dry.
