Douglas Elmes and Colin O’Sullivan travelled to the UK 420 End of Season regatta held at Grafham Water SC last weekend, 28th-29th November. Persistent rain on Saturday and Sunday did not deter the 50-strong fleet, who completed 7 races over the two days of the event. Day 1 saw tricky shifty conditions with warm wind from the south, and the fleet spread out with an outer loop, 4 races were completed. Similar tricky conditions on Day 2, but a wind shift from the north meant temperatures took a sharp drop. An inner loop was used which kept the fleet tightly packed together. 3 cold races were completed with everyone doing their best to try keep warm for last race. The event was won by Max Clapp / Ross Banham of the UK and a consistent performance from Elmes / O'Sullivan placed them in third overall.
