Howth Harbour to Sparkle This Saturday at HYC’s Christmas Light Up
We are looking forward to our Christmas Light Up in conjunction with Explore Howth this Saturday, 13th December.  HYC is inviting members, neighbours, and the entire harbour community to come together for a magical evening as we transform the waterfront into a festive winter wonderland.

The celebration begins at 2:00pm with a Mini Christmas Market at the yacht club, showcasing a range of local traders including Cooper's Bottleshop, Be Sweet Café, Karen’s Fabulous Books, Susan Dickson Pottery, Surround, Séad Stained Glass, Carol O’Mara Art, Mother Earth, and Clyne’s Corner Honey.

At 4:00pm, weather permitting, the Merry & Bright Dinghy Sail brings a splash of colour to the harbour with festively decorated dinghies.

At 6:30pm, the Canbelto Choir leads the community in Carol Singing before the countdown to the main event.

The Lighting Up takes place at 6:45pm, when boats, masts, and the surrounding harbour will illuminate in a spectacular display. Boat owners are encouraged to light up their vessels and take part — with prizes up for grabs for standout displays.

Carol singing continues after the switch-on, creating a warm, festive atmosphere for families, friends, and visitors to enjoy.

Kevin Monks, Commodore at Howth Yacht Club said: “This event is all about community spirit. With the support of Explore Howth and Fingal County Council, we’re excited to bring everyone together to fill the harbour with festive light, good cheer, and a bit of Howth magic.”

Event Schedule:

2pm – Mini Christmas Market at HYC
4.30pm – Merry & Bright Dinghy Sail
6:30pm – Carol Singing with the Canbelto Choir
