Lambay Races - the Runners & Riders
The Lambay Races 2025 are shaping up to be a stunning spectacle, with a thrilling mix of seasoned champions and ambitious challengers ready to battle it out here over the June Bank Holiday weekend.
Leading the charge in Class 0, Checkmate XX, last year’s victor, returns with a wealth of local knowledge, making them a formidable contender once again. But they won’t have an easy ride—The Big Picture, owned by the Evans brothers, and Ghost Raider, helmed by Norbert Reilly, are both eager to seize the crown.
From Dun Laoghaire, a fleet of challengers is ready to shake things up, including John Treanor’s ValenTina, Rockabil VI, and Prima Forte. Adding a fresh twist to the competition, Tim Kane’s “Wow” makes its debut at Howth Yacht Club, promising to turn heads.
Beyond the high-stakes Class 0 battles, the traditional Howth 17s, Squibs, and Puppeteers will bring their own charm to the races, with entries expected to surge as the event nears and weather forecasts solidify. Meanwhile, the White Sails, Class 1, 2, 3, and Sports Boats will ensure a weekend packed with exhilarating competition.
Check out the schedule and whether you're crew or shore-side support, you can expect great après sail music, food and drinks along with the best company on the coast.
Entry closes Friday 23 May so don't miss the adrenaline-fueled action, fierce rivalries, and unforgettable moments.
Who will rise to the occasion and claim victory?
Only time—and the tides—will tell!
