On Saturday, May 10th, Howth Yacht Club will proudly take part in Darkness into Light for the fourth consecutive year, supporting Pieta House and those impacted by suicide and self-harm.

Partnering with Howth Adventures, Crew Class, and Ireland's Eye Ferries, we're offering unique ways for members, families, and friends to come together at sunrise—whether by sailing, walking, rowing, or paddling.

Ways to Get Involved:

• Sail: HYC boat owners, skippers, and crews are invited to join a sunrise sail aboard the club’s J80s, departing from the West Pier pontoon at 3:30am.

• Walk & Ferry: Shane and his team of expert guides at Howth Adventures and Ireland’s Eye Ferries will take hikers along the cliff path while the motorboats will ferry passengers around the nose of Howth to meet sailors and walkers at the EIRE 6 sign as dawn breaks. Walkers depart at 4:45am; ferries leave at 5:00am.

• Paddle: Join a flotilla of stand-up paddleboards led by HYC’s own Eoin Kernan.

• Row: Crew Class morning rowers will be out a little earlier than usual, starting at 5:15am.

After the activities, gather back at the Clubhouse for hot drinks, freshly baked scones, and good company from 6:00am.

Tickets are €30 with all proceeds directly supporting Pieta House.
