Celebrating 40 Years of the Puppeteer 22 Fleet at HYC
This weekend marks a significant milestone for Howth Yacht Club as we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Puppeteer 22 fleet.
As the largest fleet racing in HYC, the Puppeteers have become a cornerstone of our sailing community, with an impressive average turnout on Tuesday and Saturday Club Racing. Racing within the Puppeteer 22 fleet is known for its high level of competitiveness, providing great fun and learning opportunities for sailors of all skill levels. The camaraderie and teamwork fostered by Pup crew size, ranging from 3 to 5 members, often makes for long lasting friendship bonds.
This weekend’s celebrations are extra special as they coincide with the 2024 Puppeteer 22 Irish National Championship, taking place at HYC on August 24-25, which will end with a celebrative dinner in the Clubhouse on Sunday evening.
To mark the occasion our website is now enriched with a new section dedicated to the Puppeteer 22 boats and their history.
Join us in celebrating this remarkable milestone and witness the always thrilling races that have defined the Puppeteer 22 fleet for four decades!
