It was a delight to see the Howth 17 fleet race again during the past weekend for their National Championship, with their distinctive hull and sail shapes.

126 years after their initial racing events, Howth 17s showed that competition still blows strong their sails along with a strong sense of community that connects all the sailors in this class.

The local one-design racing boats were honoured to host a colourful fleet of Mermaids from six clubs around Ireland competing for their National Championships.
