Melges 15 2025 National Chanpionships

Introduction
Welcome to the 2025 Melges 15 Irish National Championships, proudly hosted at Howth Yacht Club.

On behalf of Howth Yacht Club, we extend a warm welcome to all competitors. We look forward to an exciting weekend of racing on the water and our signature hospitality ashore.
Club Facilities
Access Code: 2117 This code will provide entry through the main marina gate and into the changing rooms.
An area of the Dinghy pen has been cleared for visiting Melges 15s (see pic below). It is the area to the left of the slipway. Please put your boat in this area and check in with the Marina staff in the Marina Office.
Racing Information
- Documents: All race documents and amendments are available on the HYC event page
- Practice Race: Friday 22 August, Warning Signal at 19:00.
- Saturday: Competitors’ briefing at 10:45. First warning signal at 11:55.
- Sunday: First warning signal at 10:55.
Please monitor the official notice board and the event WhatsApp group for updates or schedule changes.
Additional Sailing: Boats already in Howth are welcome to join our regular Thursday night racing. The warning signal for the first (of two) race is 19:00. Please notify Cormac if you plan to race.
Communications
The primary communication channel for the event will be the 2025 M15 IRL Nationals WhatsApp group.

Registration
The registration desk will be located in the Junior Room and will be open at:
- Friday, 22 August: 16:30 – 18:00
- Saturday, 23 August: 09:00 – 10:30
All competitors must register before racing.
Note: At least one member per boat must be a member of the Melges 15 Class association. You can pay your subscription via Revolut and complete the application form online.
Vakoras RaceSense
All boats must be equipped with a Vakoras instrument (Edge / Atlas) to participate in the event. A limited number of units may be available for rent but please let the event organisers know in advance if you need a unit.
- Please bring your device to registration.
- Ensure it is fully charged and updated to the latest firmware via the Vakoras app (v26.5).
- Set your class profile to Melges 15 (See pic below).
John Sheehy will be available at registration to confirm setup and assist with RACESENSE configuration.
Note: There is a requirement for each Vakoras unit to have a valid RACESENSE subscription which can be purchased directly from Vakoras as a monthly or annual pass.
Results
Results will be available on the HYC website
Social Programme
- BBQ: Saturday, 17:00–19:00 on the clubhouse balcony. (€20 per person, payable by Visa or credit card at the BBQ).
- Evening Entertainment: DJ in the upstairs lounge from 21:00.
