ROMEOS visit the National Yacht Club

11 November 2014

On Friday 3rd October the ROMEOs (Retired Old Men Eating Out) plans to cross Dublin Bay aboard the Dublin Bay Cruiser the St. Brigid were scuppered by adverse weather resulting them having to make the arduous crossing to the South side by DART.

The occasion was the first outing of their 2014/2015 serious of monthly outings. The venue was the National Yacht Club where they enjoyed a very pleasant lunch..

Throughout the day our thoughts were with our late departed and great supporter Seamus O’Carroll who died in July while returning from an Irish Cruising Club rally. To mark the occasion a minutes silence was observed during the lunch. Our sympathies go to his partner Eileen and his family.

Moving on, the ROMEO November outing on Wednesday 19th sees them take to the air again and fly to Edinburgh. Part of the day’s itinerary includes a visit to the former Royal Yacht Britannia.
