Brass Monkey Winter Series 2025 – Kicking Off Next Sunday!
 
The much-loved Brass Monkey Winter Racing Series sets sail again next Sunday, marking the start of another fantastic winter cruiser/racer competition at Howth Yacht Club.
 
This year, we’re delighted to welcome new sponsor Tadg O’Riordan Motors. Tadg opened his first Toyota dealership in Ashbourne 42 years ago, later expanding to Tallaght in 2007. Our own Sean McEnroe, the Dealer Principal, is on hand for great deals on cars and services!
 
We’re equally pleased to continue our long-standing partnership with John Aunger of the much loved Brass Monkey Restaurant, who once again is providing prizes for the series.
 
This season marks the unofficial 40th birthday of the Brass Monkey Series — with the official celebration to come in 2027. As Ireland’s oldest winter cruiser/racer series, it’s an achievement we’re incredibly proud of, and one that will always hold a special place in the HYC calendar.
 
It’s fantastic to see the continued growth of the event, including strong participation from the Club J80s. Even if your own boat is tucked away for the winter, you can still get involved and enjoy great racing on the water.
 
The 2025 Brass Monkey Series will run over five Sundays, culminating in the final race and prizegiving lunch on Saturday, 13th December.
