Howth’s Sheridan is RS Aero Masters Euro Champ
Howth Yacht Club was represented by three sailors at the recent RS Aero European Championships at Torbole on Lake Garda.
Daragh Sheridan is the new European Masters Champion in the Aero 6 and also topped the Irish ranking with a very strong 8th overall in that class.
John Phelan and Emmet Dalton battled it out a little lower down the rankings with both getting some decent individual race scores during the regatta.
An epic 11 races over three days in one of the most iconic sailing venues, followed by vino of various colori, great food and buckets of gelato saw the Howth Gladiatori rounding off as follows:
Daragh Sheridan (pictured) 8th
Emmet Dalton 29th
John Phelan 31st
Next on the travellers’ list is the Swiss Open for Emmet in June, whilst John and Daragh ramp up to the July Worlds in France.
Howth hosts the 2027 RS Aero European Championships, so now might be time to consider trying one out.
