HYC have a dedicated RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) Rescue and Training service for Club Racing, Open Events and Club Training Courses.
HYC requires rib drivers and crew throughout the year. The rostering of drivers and crew is handled by the Marina Office based on the approved RIB drivers list.

Junior members are encouraged to participate in Rescue and Mark Laying. Qualification is attained through completion of HYC Powerboat courses under the ISA National Powerboat Training Scheme. Details of these courses are available in the Training section of the ISA website www.sailing.ie
Assessment is continuous throughout all courses. The instructor may, at his/her discretion, require a practical assessment of boat handling skills and/or a written paper or oral interview
These courses are provided to HYC members who in return are required to agree to be rostered for Rescue and Mark Laying during the sailing season.

How to apply:
New drivers and crew wishing to be involved should apply to the Club on the Application Form 'Application Form for Powerboat Training' in side column above.
Members aged 14-20 years should apply to: HYC Powerboat Training, Howth Yacht Club, Harbour Road, Howth.
Members aged over 21 should apply to the Principal, Powerboat School, Howth Yacht Club, Harbour Road, Howth.

HYC have a dedicated RIB Rescue and Mark Laying service for Club Racing, Open Events and Club Training Courses
and require rib drivers and crew throughout the year.
Adults are encouraged to participate, particularly for dinghy events, so that junior members can sail
rather than drive ribs.
